Ryan Kavanagh’s Introducing Monthly Boxing Series “TrillVerz”
Triller, an app whose co-owner is Ryan Kavanagh, has is ready to sign a one-year partnership with the Madison Square Garden Company to introduce a monthly boxing series held on Tuesdays at the New York’s Hulu Theatre M.S.G. The co-owner told ESPN in an interview.
The series started on the 3rd of this month. The first match was a title eliminator between ESPN’s No.9 heavyweight, Michael Hunter, and Mike Wilson. Former champion Chris Algieri, 140 pounds, will also compete against an opponent who still needs determination.

Although the deal is yet to be signed, the management of M.S.G. greenlit the pact. The series is called “TrillerVerz” and will also feature a verzuz rap battle between two well-known people who are N.O.R.E. and Beanie Sigel. The whole event will be streamed on F.I.T.E. and Thriller T.V., first the main boxing fight and then the rap battle.
Ryan Kavanaugh also told ESPN that they were delighted to bring back the Boxing Tuesdays at the theatre. The deal is to make an amalgamation of the excitement and purity of boxing with the cultural relevance of Verzuz.

Peter Kahn, the chief boxing officer of Triller, initiated the deal and did all the negotiations and talks with the M.S.G. He will also see all the boxing aspects of the series. The rap battles will be watched over by the producers Swiss Beats and Timba land. The local promoter for the events will be Dib Ella Entertainment.
Hunter, who will be fighting opposite Mike, told the reporters that this was the first time happening with him where he was the main event, not to mention how unreal he felt. The heavyweight boxer also discussed the pressure of the game he would feel in the international boxing arena. He mentioned that he had played there once, but not as the main event, so the opportunity now for him is great to prove his skills and take the game one step up.
After moving to heavyweight, Hunter has improved his skills immensely and fought a draw with Alexander Povetkin, an Olympic gold medalist, in 2019. Moreover, the 32-year old had also represented the U.S. in the Olympic games of 2012.
Algieri facing Hunter became a 140-pound champion back in 2014 after defeating Ruslan Provodnikov. The 37-year old has not been in a single fight since 2019. So, it will be a fresh chance to see him again.
